The dataset, called DUST, has 1,378 calibrated near-infrared images taken in orbit by the CASSIOPE Fast Auroral Imager. It includes 4,237 checked labels of resident space objects (satellites and debris). Researchers can use it to train and test methods that find objects in orbit and estimate a spacecraft’s orientation from star images.
The work was led by Vithurshan Suthakar in Prof. Regina Lee’s lab, with the AUSM Lab. The data are on Zenodo and listed on our Datasets page.
