The OnTRAC project, led at York by Prof. Gunho Sohn with partner Thales Canada, won second place in the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) Project of the Year competition.
OnTRAC uses AI to make trains safer. Prof. Sohn’s team is building a vision-based AI system so that an autonomous train can deal with a hazard on the track safely, without a person stepping in.
